Squatter Proceedings
In England and Wales, "squatting" is the act of someone occupying a property with the intent to live there but having no legal right to do so. If uninterrupted, the doctrine of adverse possession allows a squatter to eventually gain a legal interest in the property. In most cases, upon discovery of the squatters, a landlord can retrieve their property through the Interim Possession Order process which will normally result in eviction of the squatters within a few weeks.
